Weekly up-date December 28 – January 3, 2004 Jaslynn had her chemo this week and she also received one pint of blood. Jaslynn is going to start her radiation on Monday January 5, it will be 5 days a week for 6 weeks. The next 6 weeks will be hard on Jaslynn as she also has to continue her chemo. We would like to ask again for everyone to please keep Jaslynn and all her family in your prayers. Jaslynn and Gibby miss their mommy a lot, Hope (their mom) became ill on December 31, and was taken to hospital, on January 1. She had to have emergency surgery when a ct scan showed that her appendix had busted. During surgery doctors had to flush her system. At this point she was told that she would have to stay in hospital for at least 5 days and that there was a 50% chance they may have to go back in and flush her system again. Hope will be weak and unable to do much for awhile. Please help us pray for her so that she will be able to come home and be with her kids. We will continue to help Shaun and Hope with Jaslynn’s appointments and Gibby returning back to school. Pray that nothing stands in our way. Also for Shaun as he now worries about Jaslynn and Hope being sick, I pray that God give him the strength to keep going through all of this and his new job at the same time. This week Jaslynn was very happy when I told her that her teacher had visited the web-site and had signed the guest book, she wanted to see it so the pictures above is Jaslynn checking on the web-site and looking at her e-mails. We do read her e-mails to her.

Jaslynn had her chemo on Monday the 22nd and was sent home with the med backpack for 48 hrs. We were told that by Wednesday she would start to get ill. That’s when we asked for a Special Prayer. We saw that she was starting to feel bad this was on the 23rd, Jaslynn is weak and her hair is still falling out a little bit and she weighs 29pds (she gained a pound) yeah. Jaslynn was very happy after they took off her med backpack. By the 24th “Praise God” she did a complete turnaround and was doing a lot better on Christmas Eve. We had made arrangements with The San Antonio Police Blue Santa to come on Christmas Eve to see Jaslynn and her Brother Gibby. When they saw the Blue Santa they got so excited the police car had the lights and siring on with Blue Santa waving to them. When Blue Santa and the Police officer got out of the car Jaslynn and Gibby were both like wow A Blue Santa came to see us. Both Jaslynn and Gibby were very thankful for the gifts they received from The SAPD and Blue Santa. Jaslynn’s parents would like to thank the; Any Baby Can of San Antonio for setting up the get together for Jaslynn at the Marquis apartments at Castle Hills, the residents there provided gifts and dinner for Jaslynn’s family. The staff, Theresa, Brian, Natalie, Angela, Jenny, Oscar and Irene Thanks for all your help. Please keep Jaslynn in your prayers as she is getting ready to start her radiation soon. Her smiles this week were great. Jaslynn got to do all this with the Doctors OK and under close supervision, and no one sick in the area.

Weekly up-date December 14- December 20 2003 Jaslynn had another good week. On Monday she had her regular chemo treatment. Then on Thursday she went to her first radiation appointment. At this appointment they put her to sleep so that they could create a mask to fit her face, this mask will keep her from moving during her radiation treatments. Jaslynn starts her radiation on the week of the 29th. It will be 5 days a week for 6 weeks. On Friday she went to have her blood level checked, and it was low so they sent her to hospital to get 2 more pints of blood. This makes Jaslynn’s fourth transfusion bring it to a total of 11 pints of blood so far. Jaslynn also got to meet Shawn Michaels, the WWE wrestler, she got his autograph and took a picture with him. Toward the middle of the week she did start to feel a little down, not to much. After she received the transfusion she was back to her normal happy self. On Monday our local newspaper came and interviewed Jaslynn and her family. They made front page telling Jaslynn's story and that is helping bring in more prayers. On Monday December 22, 2003 I am going to put up a PO BOX # for Jaslynn and Gibby to receive Christmas and get-well cards, many of our e-mails have asked if they can send something. Again thanks for all your prayers they are working, Praise God. | We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. From all of us. |

Weekly up-date December 7 – December 13 2003 Jaslynn had a very good week Drs. had told us that by Wednesday she was going to be sick due to all chemo she got the week before. but on that day she was fine and was able to go out to dinner with us for her grandma’s birthday. I think that God is watching over her and the prayers from all is helping her a lot. I my self believe in prayers and have asked for your help in praying for Jaslynn. On Friday Jaslynn went back to the hospital for 2 more pints of Blood and was able to come home after that. At this point Jaslynn is allowed to be around immediate family members only due to her blood count being low. It is at 400 needs to be around 1500. I would also like to ask for prayer for her big brother Gibby he is worried about his little sister. This week out of the blue Gibby came up to myself and his aunt Priscilla and asked if we had any pencils, and I asked him for what and he told me that he wanted to sell them to make $75 to buy his sister a Christmas present. We told him we would see what we could do to help him earn money for his sisters present. We were very proud of him.

Weekly update November 23 – 29, 2003
Jaslynn had her Monday Chemo this treatment was an hour long. Jaslynn started running a fever on Tuesday and was not feeling well, very weak and a bellyache. Jaslynns mom contacted the doctor and he wanted to see Jaslynn, so her mom called grandpa Ernest to help take her to the doctor. The doctor checked her blood count and that was fine. The mom advised the doctor that Jaslynn had not been able to go potty and they decided that was why she had the bellyache. The doctor gave a prescription and Jaslynn got to come home, she stayed sick with this until Thursday morning. We had been praying all week that Jaslynn would have a good Thanksgiving, On Thursday morning after Jaslynn woke up she said she had a bellyache about 30 min later Jaslynn was fine and wanting to play."Praise God". Jaslynn was glowing with so much energy we could not believe it. Jaslynn did great the rest of the day played outside in the sunshine and got to ride in her barbie jeep, every now and then she would state her "bellyache was hurting". Friday morning they contacted the doctor and advised him that Jaslynn was still having the bellyache and he stated it was one of the side effects from the chemo. So far Jaslynn is still doing good. Monday she does have her 8 hour session of Chemo which will be very hard on her. We will have the update next week. (We will be working on her Blood Drive this week.)

Weekly update
Novemeber the 17th.- November 22, 2003
Jaslynn had her Monday Chemo. She did better than the first time. On Tuesday she started running a fever so her mother, Hope, contacted the Doctor. He said he wanted to see Jaslynn on Wednesday to recheck her blood count. The doctor told Hope that her blood count was down and she needed blood. He told Hope to take Jaslynn to be admitted to the hospital for the blood. Jaslynn's fever came back soon after she arrived at the hospital. The doctor decided it was best if she stayed in the hospital until her blood count was back up, because she is vulnerable to infection when it is down. Jaslynn is a little sad that she is in the hospital but she is doing o.k. Please keep praying for Jaslynn, that God will comfort her and bless her during this illness, and bless Jaslynn with a miracle. As I sit here working on web page I am told that Jaslynn's Blood count is back up and she is comming home today.(Thank you God)
