In Loving Memory of Our Little Jaslynn

Jaslynn Fought A Long Hard Battle

God will walk us through our good times
And our difficult times,
No need to deal with
Sadness alone.
The Beautiful in life is what you see
And believe.
Don’t take life for granted,
Share your love, laughter,
Faith and Joy with all.
Most of all cherish your loved ones
And let them know that
You love them.

My heart goes out to you and your whole family--I know this must be a terrible time for you. May God comfort you and bless you all. Jaslynn touched so many lives in her short few years. She is surely an angel tonight. God Bless you all

My mommie works for SACU with your aunt Priscilla. I don't know how to use a computer as well as my mommie so I am asking her to type this for me. I am 7 years old. I don't know you in person but I feel like I have known you all my life. I am very sad as to what happened to you today. It made me cry because I miss you. My mommie tells me that you are with my daddy, grandma Sano, grandpa Fred, and grandpa John in Heaven. That is neat because they are a lot of fun. You will like them all. Please say Hi to them when you get to Heaven. I know your parents will be in good hands because you will be watching them like my daddy watches me. I am hoping to see you on Wednesday if I can. I haven't been feeling too good myself so I will try. If not, I hope to keep in touch if possible in my own way.
Love your new best friend,

Dear Ernest and family.
How sorry I am to hear that Jaslynn has passed on. What a short, but shining bright light she has been on this earth. I thank her for being here and being so brave and beautifull all of her life. She is truly a brave spirit. I know the lord has her now and that she must feel so relieved now that she is free of pain and the heaviness of a body. My thoughts go to all of you whom she has had to leave behind.
Much love and many thoughts
Persille

My heart is breaking for you and the family. No one can know the pain you are experiencing. But little Jaslynn is pain free, no more painful procedures and Heaven is blessed with a beautiful new angel with wings. I know little Gibby must be so hurting so and her parents I can't imagine what they are going through. My prayers will remain with you and this wonderful family. God bless all of you.

We are so very sorry for the loss of little Jaslynn. We can only find strength in knowing she is in heaven watching over all of you. In lieu of flowers will there be account we can donate to? We would love to help in any possible way...I know you probably have more help and support than you could need but we would love to have the opportunity. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your precious daughter. I know she is with God, and singing with the Angels! Thank you for sharing her with us; I loved seeing her beautiful smiling face!

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers...nor things present, nor things to come...nor any other creature, Shall be able to separate us from the love of God...."

Dear Mr. Hernandez:
Please keep the Website up for a while longer. I look at it several times a day. There are many of us mourning the loss of Jaslynn along with her family. We cannot know the depth of your pain and feel the same loss as you, but I am sure there are many who like me think of her constantly and remember her beautiful smile. I pray for all of her family and hope that knowing there are many of us out here who care will help in some small way. I look forward to seeing your update on the Memorial. I live in College Station, Texas and cannot make it to San Antonio. God Bless You.
Gail

Mr. Hernandez,
I am very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I first received the link to your website in June of 04 thru a friend of mine. I have followed it weekly since then. Jaslynn is a beautiful child. I was so mesmerized by her beautiful smile. Even though I did not know her personally, I was devastated to hear of her passing. Jaslynn and her family really touched my heart. I can only imagine how difficult it has been for you and your wife along with Jaslynns parents and brother to try and cope with something like this. As a parent I know you love your children more than anything, you must have felt terrible for your granddaughter and terrible for your son. Please know that I continue to pray with all my heart for Jaslynn, her parents, Gibby, you and Grandma Joy and your entire extended family. I am sure you know that you were blessed to have Jaslynn in your life, but please know that she too was blessed for having such a loving and caring family. I could feel from your website that you truly love your grandchildren, and your heart was breaking for Jaslynn, Gibby, Shaun and Hope. I think you should continue with this website in Jaslynns honor, let us know how you guys are doing and how Gibby is doing. Remember that Jaslynn is always with all of you. I wish that there was something I could do for you and your family. I would like you to know that my husband is a SAPD officer, he also works on the Southside. He says Shaun comes in to work when my husband is getting off. My husband is the one that told me of her passing, like I said I was devastated. He told me they were taking up donations for expenses, so he was going to the ATM. He also told me that he was really surprised to see even the young officers, who have no children pull out a 50.00 like it was nothing. He said anytime Jaslynns name was brought up, you could see how the officers were just devastated. He says Shaun will always have his brothers in blue for support. I lost my mother to cancer 3 years ago, she was 52. I have told her to look for Jaslynn in heaven, because she has to meet this amazing little girl. I know I don’t know you or your family personally but please let me know if there is anything at all my family and I can do for you.
My prayers are with you always.

Ernest,
I started this email the day I returned from Texas but could not find the words to express how sorry I am for your loss. I wish I could have met Jaslynn but I had a bad cold and didn't feel it would have been appropriate to expose her to that. When my parents told me about Jasylnn's passing, my heart just broke. Even though we all know she is in heaven with our Maker and the angels, it still hurts our flesh to know she is no longer here on earth with us. This is the time we need to most rely on God's great comfort and mercy. The bible tells us,
"Jesus called them to Him, saying, 'Let the children come to me and do not hinder them for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.' " Lk 15:15-17
We know Jaslynn was God's perfect child and only God knows why she had to go through so much. But from reading and hearing about her, it's almost as if she knew she had to go through this for God and that's the reason she never complained. Now, she's in Heaven with our beautiful Lord singing praises all day long to Him -- waiting for the day to see us again. So now we must go on looking forward to that day when our Lord calls us to be with Him - looking forward to that day when we will see Jaslynn's beautiful face again. May God continue to give you and the family the comfort only He can give. You have so many people praying for you all. Please know your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I look forward to reading the memorial page for Jaslynn.
God Bless.

Hi Ernest,
It's me Imelda. I just wanted to see how you and your family are doing. I saw Gibby's pictures and he looks very happy on his bike. I still check your website everyday to see if there are any updates, but I know that you are very busy and tired and you have to be there for Shaun and Hope. But it still brings a smile to my face when I go back and see the pictures of Jaslynn smiling. You should continue the website in honor of Jaslynn. The services were very nice. And every chance I get I will stop and give Jaslynn a visit. Take Care and God Bless You and Your Family,
Imelda Placido

God looked around his garden
And he found an easy place,
He then looked down upon this earth,
And he saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get better on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered “Peace be thine”
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone.
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
